PARITY
Pro-sumer aware, transactive markets or valorisation of distributed flexibility enabled by smart energy contracts
The project began in October 2019 and will last for three and a half years (1/10/2019 – 30/4/2022), with a total budget of 9,3 million €. The project is being carried by a consortium of 17 partners from 7 different EU countries, including the Spain, Greece, Cyprus, Sweden, Austria, Switzerland and Belgium, with CERTH (Greece) being the coordinating beneficiary. PARITY addresses the “structural inertia” of DGs by delivering a transactive flexibility framework that will increase durability and efficiency of the electrical grid, while simultaneously enabling the adoption of more RES through enhanced real- time control of DER Flexibility combined with novel Active Network Management functionalities. PARITY will go beyond the traditional “top-down” grid management practices by delivering a unique local flexibility management platform through the seamless integration of IoT and Blockchain technologies. By delivering a smart-contract enabled market platform based on blockchain technology, PARITY will facilitate the efficient deployment of local micro-transactions and reward flexibility in a cost-reflective and symmetric manner, through price signals of higher spatio-temporal granularity based on real-time grid operational conditions. Finally, by deploying advanced IoT technology PARITY will offer distributed intelligence (DER profiling) and self-learning/self-organization capabilities (automated real-time distributed control), orchestrated by cost- reflective flexibility market signals generated by the blockchain LFM platform. Within PARITY, DER will form dynamic clusters that essentially comprise self-organized networks of active DER nodes, engaging in real-time aggregated & P2P energy/flexibility transactions. Merit Consulting House is the dissemination & communication leader of PARITY and also responsible for business innovation planning and the PARITY replication/scale-up roadmap. Training on energy audits as an Energy Efficiency DRIVER for the automotive sector
The project began in June 2019 and will last for three years (1/6/2019 – 30/6/2022), with a total budget of 1,9 million €. The project is being carried by a consortium of 12 partners from 5 different EU countries, including the Spain, Germany, Italy, France and Belgium, with CIRCE (Spain) being the coordinating beneficiary. The contribution of automotive SMEs to efficient energy use is vital. Yet their awareness of the benefits of energy efficiency is still lacking. E2DRIVER sets out to change that. The goal of E2DRIVER is to train SMEs in the automotive sector on energy auditing and energy saving measures for cost-effective energy efficiency improvements. To overcome the lack of knowledge, skills and awareness prevalent in the industry, the project’s integrative approach aims to boost capacity building programmes on energy auditing by establishing an innovative learning platform. The learning platform puts people at the centre through a creative training methodology. The hallmark of this methodology is the adaptation of training materials and energy self-assessment tools to each trainee’s needs and motivations (adaptive learning environment). In addition, peer trainers will take centre stage as they generate own knowledge on energy efficiency and share it with their co-workers (ontological-flip teaching). Merit Consulting House participates as a leader in the business model development and the definition of the replication strategies. A market analysis will be carried out and based on the acquired market knowledge, a specific business plan will be developed for E2DRIVER methodology and platform.
